Pounamu Drop Earrings

Named after a freshwater fish found in New Zealand, Genuine West Coast Inanga Pounamu features a pale, transparent appearance reminiscent of the fish's young. Its color can range from pearly white to grey-green, and may change over time as it oxidizes, often developing a light olive tint. This highly sought-after stone is favored by the Māori, who use it to create traditional weapons such as Mere and Patu. The unique color and patterning of these earrings come from the outer layer of greenstone boulders, which have oxidized over time.
